I have always been thinking about this. As long as I am alive, I will take care of my Facebook account. But what will happen to it after I die? Do you have the same doubt? Then, Let us have a detailed view about the Facebook's Legacy Contact.

Once you die, what happens to your Facebook account, what would your messages and photos and data be?


Hereby Facebook introduces the feature of legacy contact. Much like you’d make a will to give your physical assets to a loved one, Facebook lets you give control of your account to someone and its easy to add one. They can post on your timeline, respond to friend requests and also update your DP. They cannot log into your account but instead manage your account on behalf of you.

STEPS

1. Go to Settings --> Security --> Legacy contact.
2. Click on edit.
3. Type your Friends name in the box and click on Add button.
4. You can also choose whether you want them to be able to download an archive of all your photos, posts and profile information. Just enable the check-box named as Data archive permission.

Beneath the legacy contact, you can find a field named as account deletion. This is for the people who doesn't want their Facebook account to be active after they pass away. You can enable the check-box if you don't want a legacy contact. Click on the delete after death button in the displayed dialog box.
